Film Hamilton has secured agreements with a number of local businesses, government and community organizations. We will help you find the location you need, negotiate with local owner, and be on site to serve as liaison between the filming location and your production team.

Film Hamilton supports local business and will help you secure hotel accommodations for your production team at our downtown Courtyard by Marriott.
What is the City of Hamilton's Permitting Policy?
Film Hamilton acts as a liaison for all film and video projects working in the city. The City of Hamilton does not have a blanket, film permit but requires specific permits based on proposed filming activity. Film Hamilton will work with you to determine what permits you will need and assist you in acquiring permits from the appropriate city agencies.
What are the requirements for use of special effects and explosives?
A detailed proposal is required for the use of any Special Effects or Explosives including (but certainly not limited to) fire
effects, water effects, explosions, gunshots, car crashes, stunts, driving shots, etc. Proposals will be thoroughly examined by Film Hamilton, Hamilton Police Department, Hamilton Fire Department, and any other necessary or affected parties.
What are the local law enforcement requirements?
Filming may require the support of the Hamilton Police Department, Hamilton Fire Department and other law enforcement
agencies. Proposed activity may be vetted through Film Hamilton, and specific requirements will be directly addressed. This activity includes, but is not limited to, street closures, pyrotechnics, driving shots, and stunts.
Is the Hamilton/Fairfield Regional Airport Film Friendly?
Yes, all requests for filming at the airport may be vetted through Film Hamilton.
Is there a local production crew and filming resources available?
Film Hamilton has a formal relationship with TvHAMILTON. TvHAMILTON has crew and equipment readily available to outside production crews. All requests for local production assistance can be vetted through Film Hamilton.
What are the costs?
Film Hamilton is a social enterprise with 100% of its profits donated to support the local nonprofit community television station, TvHAMILTON. Film Hamilton negotiates reasonable costs for services with each production team. Often highly sought after locations can be secured more reasonably through Film Hamilton's negotiated rates, more than paying for the cost of Film Hamilton services. Film Hamilton can also save you valuable time and human resources by streamlining services through a local, centralized hub.
It is strongly recommended you contact Film Hamilton to begin planning your work in the city as early as possible. Film Hamilton staff is available to consult and assist even in the initial stages of project development. Certain requests and activities such as pyrotechnic effects, street closures, parking requests, or filming in historic districts or buildings may require additional time to secure appropriate permits. The Film Hamilton staff will act as your project’s personal liaison and will provide one-on-one consulting to determine what permits and agencies you will need to make your project a success.
